Have you heard of women experiencing physical discomfort or pain on the outer genitals during sexual activity as a normal part of menopause? Yes No Since entering menopause, do you currently experience or have you experienced pain during sexual intercourse? Yes No Since entering menopause, have you spoken with your health care professional about painful sex (dyspareunia)? Yes No Answer 1: The REVEAL Surveys showed that although most postmenopausal women surveyed have heard of women experiencing the traditional symptoms related to menopause, fewer (57%) have heard of women experiencing the vulvar and vaginal symptoms associated with menopause. Answer 2: The REVEAL Surveys showed that one out of four postmenopausal women surveyed (25%) reported experiencing pain during sexual intercourse associated with menopause, known as dyspareunia, at least sometimes. Answer 3: The REVEAL Surveys showed that among postmenopausal women surveyed who reported experiencing pain during sexual intercourse at least sometimes, only 54% had spoken to their health care professional about painful sex.
